Using these instructions i was able to add a custom video i made in After Effects to my Raspberry Pi’s boot-up screen. Basically it plays a 20 second video using omxplayer while the Pi is doing its normal bootup things.
I added the following line to /etc/rc.local
raspistill -w 1920 -h 1080 -q 100 -o myimage_%d.jpg -tl 1000 -t 3600000
This takes a 1920×1080, quality 100 jpg, every 1 second for 60 minutes.
I wanted to limit the amount of space used by the pictures as i am only using a 16g sd card. 1080 size comes out around 1meg a jpeg
When i started it back up at my desk i did a “killall -v raspistill” to stop the camera and used winscp to copy them to my windows computer.
Took the photos into Lightroom to clean up and then into after effects.
